Ray of Thorns

I’m a queer illustrator based in Birmingham, creating work that blends the eerie beauty of the past with cult modern iconography. Inspired by medieval woodcut etchings, I’m drawn to all things esoteric, cryptic, and uncanny. My art pulls from folklore, religious mysticism, and gothic elements, channeling my fascination with the sacred and the strange.
At the heart of my work is a Tarot deck themed around famous witches that features historical heretics and folkloric hags to pop culture sorceresses. It draws on the visual language of traditional decks and the dramatic linework of old engravings. These witches become archetypes of power, rebellion, and queer identity.
